Intended Use: Summary and Explanation

PureSperm® Wash is a washing medium designed for use after density gradient centrifugation of spermatazoa from human ejaculates, a standard procedure in Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART).

PureSperm Wash has the following specifications:

Isotonic salt solution
Shelf life of 12 months from production in unopened bottle
pH of 7.5 - 8.5 at room temperature
Isotonicity of 290 - 300 mOsm/kg water
HEPES buffer included
Glucose included
Low endotoxin levels (<1.00 EU/mL)
Terminally sterilised by pasteurisation
Packaged in borosilicate glass bottles with silicone stoppers and tamper-evident seals
Storage of unopened bottles at ambient temperature, after opening at 4 - 8ºC

Storage and Stability

Store at 2-30º Celsius and avoid temperatures above or below these values. Under these conditions PureSperm® Wash has a shelf-life of 1 year from production. The expiry date is shown on both bottles and cartons.

Open and close bottles under aseptic conditions. After opening, store at 2-8ºC when not in use.

No antibiotics, unstable additives or preservatives have been included in PureSperm® Wash.

Precautions and Warnings

Use aseptic procedures at all times.
Use sealed buckets during centrifugation to avoid creation of aerosols.
PureSperm® Wash does not represent any fire or combustion hazard. A material safety data sheet is
available from the manufacturer or distributor.
Federal Law (USA) restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
When retrieving the sperm pellets, follow the instructions provided to avoid inadvertent contamination.
It is not intended that these gradients should be used more than once, because of sperm sample mixing and reduced gradient efficacy.
